Amelia Brown's
teaching background has been primarily as a very successful home-schooling
parent and mathematics tutor. Learning along with her students, she has
developed this excellent text with a unique approach that uses clear and
straight forward explanations, written using language and methods that students
can easily identify with and understand. It is the culmination of her
dream to help weak or insecure students gain understanding and confidence in
mathematics.
Speaking plainly to students as a
fellow learner with support and encouragement, she removes much of the
"mystery" often contained in many standard texts. Her many
"asides" and suggestions will be invaluable (particularly for the
weaker students) as they deal with study and organizational habits for learning
as well as the mathematics topics.
"Complete MATH 9" is
presented in a very well organized fashion with excellent illustrations and easy
to read format. It is mathematically correct, contains excellent
developmental and review material and is a great resource for the basic
curriculum for Mathematics 9.

Student review of Amy's
Tutoring Style
Math has never been one of my finer skills, we got together
like fire and gasoline. Without the help of Amy's never-ending patience and
straight to the point tutoring I would have flunked math throughout high
school. Thank you Amy for putting up with the relentless questions and Dwight
for the bakery quality goodies he always made and always seemed to have extra
of.
