Students will make up questions similar to those in the sets of questions on page 55-60 to give to their teacher to do.  

 

Project:

Give your students these questions to complete.

1.     Joe draws one card from a fair deck of playing cards.  What is the probability that he will draw a King? 

2.     Jaspreet draws one card and then, without replacing that card, draws a second card from a fair deck.  What is the probability that Jaspreet  will draw two 7’s?

3.     There are 6 red marbles and 3 blue marbles in a dish.  What is the probability of choosing a red marble?

4.     There are 3 chocolate bars and 4 packages of hard candy and 3 packs of gum.  What is the probability of choosing a chocolate bar?

5.     Hortense can go to school on the bus or by car or walk.  She can choose to be early or late or on time.  What is the probability that Hortense will be on time if she walks to school?

6.     You toss 2 fair coins and throw 2 fair dice.  What is the probability that you will end up with two heads and two ones turned up?

7.     What is the probability of choosing a Queen from a fair deck of cards and turning up a Tail on a coin if you draw one card and toss one coin?

8.     What is the probability that you have a birthday in the same month as one of your classmates?

9.     There are three kinds of juice on the menu, four different kinds of muffins and a choice of tea, coffee or milk.  What is the probability that Autumn will choose orange juice, a blueberry muffin and tea?

10.  Ho has 5 pairs of jeans, 6 different shirts and 3 hats.  What it the probability that he will choose Oxford Jeans, a green t-shirt and a blue baseball cap?
