ALGEBRA Section Two

We begin Algebra by remembering that every mathematical
formula is an algebraic expression.  The student is introduced
to a variable, the letter that is substituted for an unknown amount.

Topics:

The language of algebra, from words to expressions

The Distributive Law a.k.a. FOIL

Operations using variables... addition, multiplication, etc.

Factoring binomials and trinomials

Solving equations and inequalities

Word problems demystified and categorized

The ALGEBRA section is exhaustive for a Math 9 level course.

It makes Algebra not only understandable, but obvious, to the student who has been feeling confused and uncomfortable with it.
