Introduction
Math
10 is seen as the gateway to graduation.
The lessons in
this
workbook cover all of the material found in Principles of Math 10,
the
curriculum for the four western provinces and the North.
I have arranged the topics in what seems to
me the most logical
order. Each
chapter is divided into units that teach
a single concept and illustrate it with
examples.
Immediately following are questions that
allow the student
to practice newly acquired skills.
The solutions
are at the end of each
chapter.
This is a practical book.
My method of teaching, evident
in the pages of this book originates
with my experience tutoring
students.
The students I see struggle with math in
general and Math 10
in particular.
Although little of the course material is new to the
student, the level of skill expected is high
and
the amount of material can be frightening.
It
is especially so if a student’s basic math skills are shaky.
The purpose of this book is to help students
learn
the math skills that will allow them to be
comfortable with the subject.
I
want every student to succeed in school.
Maybe
even enjoy math!
I
hope this workbook is a great help to you.
